As people have predicted it before, she's being nominated for Supporting Actress in a Miniseries/Movie. She has a tight competition though, as she's in the same category as her co-stars, Melissa Leo and Mare Winningham, along with Maggie Smith and Eileen Atkins.

Our girl Evan Rachel Wood talks to Access Hollywood about her upcoming movie "Ides Of March" and new haircut, explaining that this has nothing to do with her upcoming role. ;)

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Evan Rachel Wood hit the red carpet at the “True Blood” Season 4 premiere party in Los Angeles on Tuesday night with a striking new look – a short, blonde crop.

“It just felt right,” the actress told Access Hollywood of the change from her lengthy strawberry blonde locks to the petite blonde ‘do. “I had my hair super long and I was just ready for a change and I’ve always wanted to do it and never really had the guts and I just thought, ‘I wanna do it at least once, just chop it off.’”

The recent star of HBO’s “Mildred Pierce” said the cut had nothing to do with any upcoming role.

“No, it’s just for life. It’s just for me,” she said.

Evan still had her red locks when she filmed her return to “True Blood” Season 4, as Queen Sophie Anne, and the star confirmed fans will see a resolution of her royal’s Season 3 cliffhanger fight with Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer).

“I can’t reveal a thing, but I think people are going to be very shocked to see how that fight unfolds, for sure,” she said of what’s coming up on the show. “It’s a big deal.”

Beyond her “True Blood” return, Evan teamed up with the superstar cast of newly-single George Clooney and Ryan Gosling for the political thriller, “The Ides of March,” directed by the Oscar winning actor.

“George is amazing,” Evan said of her boss. “He’s an incredible, funny, generous man and I wish that every film I worked on was a George Clooney movie.”

As for what the movie entails, Evan said she’ll be playing a member of George’s staff with a very handsome love interest.

“He plays a politician running for office and I’m one of his interns who is having an affair with his press secretary who is Ryan Gosling,” she said. “It’s not a bad day at work. Not bad.”

“The Ides of March” will open at the Venice Film Festival on August 31. “True Blood” returns for its fourth season on HBO this Sunday at 9 PM.

Another great news: Evan Rachel Wood's "Ides Of March", which also starring Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Marissa Tomei, Paul Giamatti, and Max Minghella is official to be released at the Venice Film Festival on August 13th!

EXCLUSIVE: The George Clooney-directed The Ides of March will open the Venice Film Festival on Aug. 31, I'm told. The film, adapted from Beau Willimon's play Farragut North, stars Clooney as a presidential candidate, Ryan Gosling as a head of media and Phillip Seymour Hoffman as a campaign manager. Paul Giamatti, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood also star. The drama takes place during the Ohio primary for the Democratic nomination. It's extremely topical, given the recent resignation of Congressman Anthony Weiner for sending photos of his package to online "sexting" partners. The Ides of March involves similar scandalous activities. Clooney, who retreats to a vacation home in Lake Como in Italy, has had several of his films play at the festival. They include Intolerable Cruelty, The Man Who Stared at Goats, and the Steven Soderbergh-directed Out of Sight. Sony Pictures will distribute the film in fall.

We need trailer and stills now! And hopefully Evan will attend the VFF as well. :D

Ahhh what a great great great update today! Our lovely leading man and lady Andrew Garfield and Evan Rachel Wood are on the list to play in Warren Beatty-directed film about Howard Hughes biopic! Here's the report by Deadline:

Deadline told you Monday that Warren Beatty was getting behind the camera for the first time since Bulworth. Paramount and Beatty are keeping details under wraps, but here's what I've heard: He will play Howard Hughes, but it's not really a biopic; part of the plot involves an affair he had with a young woman in the later years of his life. I've heard that he's going top shelf for the ensemble cast he is putting together. Here is who he's meeting with: Andrew Garfield, Alec Baldwin, Annette Bening, Shia La Beouf, Jack Nicholson, Evan Rachel Wood and Rooney Mara. Beatty has wanted to play Hughes forever. The courtship of Baldwin is particularly intriguing, since in Martin Scorsese's superb Howard Hughes movie The Aviator, Baldwin played Hughes' main adversary, Pan Am World Airways founder Juan Trippe. We'll see which actors end up making the movie, but it certainly sounds like this project that Beatty wrote and has ruminated on for years is going to happen in a most ambitious way.

To be honest; besides Andrew and Evan, Shia LaBeouf and Rooney Mara are my favorites too! Hopefully these actors will eventually star together!! :D *super excited*

Our girl Evan Rachel Wood is featured in Stella Magazine UK, talking about her disappointment of being rejected in "Interview with the Vampire", and that it makes her stronger ever since.

Evan Rachel Wood has Kirsten Dunst to thank for helping her get used to rejection in Hollywood, because she became "stronger" after losing out to the actress for the role of a child bloodsucker in Interview With The Vampire.

The pair was pitted against each other for the sought-after part of youthful Claudia in the hit 1994 film alongside Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.

Dunst walked away with the role and won rave reviews for her breakthrough performance, and Wood, who was just five years old when she auditioned for the part, admits she was left "heartbroken".

She tells Britain's Stella magazine, "I was heartbroken. But that's how I learnt to deal with disappointment - it made me stronger and I never got that upset again."

More "True Blood" season 4 spoilers: Queen Sophie-Anne will return!

Waiting might be sucks, but spoilers are not! For those who are excited for the "True Blood" season 4 premiere, especially to see our vampire Queen Sophie-Anne to return, I have great news for you! TV Line's Michael Ausiello kindly spilled some deeds about the upcoming season; about Sookie and Eric's 'closer' relationship, the fierce Pam will be even more fierce, and that Sophie-Anne will be present at the first two episodes!

Returning in the opening episode is Evan Rachel Wood as vampire Queen Sophie Anne. The third season ended in a cliffhanger when Bill had gone head to head against the Queen. It's confirmed that Evan is present at some point in the first two episodes and "is actually at the center of what will probably go down as one of my favorite scenes of the entire series," says Ausiello.

But I really hope she will return for more than two episodes. I mean, Sophie-Anne might be the best part of the series! x) Go to TVLine for more "True Blood" scoops. Our wait will be over on June 26th!

"Ides Of March" will be released a week earlier on October 7th!

Finally an update of Evan Rachel Wood's most anticipated movie this year, "Ides Of March"! In March, I announced here that the movie finally gets an October 13th, 2011 release date, but great news people, it is now changed to a week-earlier on October 7th!

According to the reports from The Playlist:

Meanwhile, George Clooney‘s highly anticipated “Ides Of March” has moved up a week, now hitting screens on October 7th. Curiously, it throws the film right up against “Real Steel” and the Paul Rudd/Jennifer Aniston comedy “Wanderlust” but this will be skewing solely for the adults who don’t want to see metal things bang together or a goofy comedy. Loosely based on the 2004 Democratic primary run of Howard Dean, the Iowa-set story takes place just weeks before the state’s Democratic caucuses officially commence, following the exploits of a twenty-something presidential campaign spinmeister/wunderkind named Stephen Myers (Ryan Gosling) and the dirty pool he plays to get his candidate (played by Clooney) the nomination against a rival senator. Paul Giamatti will play the campaign manager of the rival senator, Marisa Tomei is a New York Times reporter and Evan Rachel Wood stars as an intern for Myers’ campaign. And if that heavyweight talent isn’t enough for you, Alexandre Desplat is scoring the film.

What a reeeally great Emmy Awards buzz for our girl Evan Rachel Wood! Seems like she did all of these interviews in the same day! Right now, Gold Derby's Rob Licuria did the Q&A and even predicted that Evan might get double nominations for her very fierce roles as Veda Pierce and Sophie-Anne LeClerq.

Evan Rachel Wood demonstrated her versatility with two roles on HBO projects that could make her a double nominee at this year's Emmys. She guested on the drama series "True Blood" as the vampire queen Sophie-Anne LeClerq and featured in the miniseries "Mildred Pierce" as the title character's spoilt daughter Veda.

That remake of the 1945 Best Picture contender is a frontrunner in the newly combined TV Movie/Miniseries category. Oscar champ Kate Winslet ("The Reader") took on the role that won Joan Crawford her only Academy Award. Ann Blyth, who played Veda, a would-be opera singer, lost the Best Supporting Actress race to Anne Revere ("National Velvet").

Wood recalled her first encounter with Winslet, telling Gold Derby senior editors Chris Beachum and Rob Licuria, "When I first met her I [remember that] I teared up riding the elevator [to meet with her]." She wryly admitted that after two months of preparation for the part, she was, "practically listening to opera in my sleep! ... It was intense!"

To play a vampire on "True Blood," Wood revealed, "it's difficult to pull that stuff off [though], as you don't take into consideration [things like] 'should I be breathing?' and 'how would a 300 year-old vampire react to this?'" She says she is most recognized for this role, usually with comments along the lines of, "Oh my God! There's the Queen!"

Wood also reminisced about working on the acclaimed series "Once and Again" (1999 - 2002) alongside "incredible teachers" Emmy champ Sela Ward and Billy Campbell. And she recalled the awards attention she received back in 2003 for "Thirteen." She lost the Golden Globe for Best Drama Actress to eventual Oscar champ Charlize Theron ("Monster") and her SAG supporting bid to Renee Zellweger ("Cold Mountain") who also went on to win the Oscar.

Rumor mill: "The Amazing Spider-Man" trailer to debut with "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon"?

Just got a really great but unconfirmed info about Andrew Garfield's upcoming MAJOR blockbuster "The Amazing Spider-Man". It is said that the first teaser of "Spider-Man" will debut along with "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon" screening, which will be premiered at the end of this month (June 29th).

At first I thought it's too soon for a teaser trailer release, but apparently there's a lot of movies releasing their first teasers 10 - 11 months prior to the premiere. And knowing that "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon" will be released in 3D with super major audience, it's quite logical if they want to take this opportunity for a Spidey big break, as it is a new reboot movie, no more a sequel.

But as long as there's no confirmation about this, please don't expect too much. If it's proven to be not true, then we don't have to worry because the most promising one, Comic Con 2011, is just around the corner. Sony has confirmed that the cast and crew of "Spider-Man" will attend and discuss the movie at this huge event. And of course, we all expect for the new movie poster, stills, and footages. ;)

UPDATES: Apparently, this info gets more and more assuring! Anuj Patil, a visual effects artist (who currently works for "Green Lantern"), tweeted in April about Spidey's teaser trailer, which happened a month before the movie wrapped up. "All I can say at this point is that #SpiderMan Teaser will look kick ass!" he tweeted.

He then confirmed that an exclusive Spidey footage will be revealed at the Comic Con 2011. And when someone asked about the truth of Spidey teaser will be shown with "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon" (yeah, shortly after I tweeted this news), he went:

SERIOUSLY. I really hope that this will be true! I'll keep you guys posted for more info about this exciting news!

UPDATE June 9: Mr Anuj Patil kindly replied a few of my tweets today, and just like I said before, don't expect too much on the "Transformers" rumor, since there's no official confirmation about it yet.

Exclusive Interview: Evan Rachel Wood Dishes About MILDRED PIERCE, TRUE BLOOD, and Nudity

Daemon’s TV recently had the opportunity to chat with the very talented actress Evan Rachel Wood who at a very young age already has a career that can make anyone look lazy.

We talked about her portrayal of a spoiled daughter in Mildred Pierce, how she dealt with the nudity in the part and also what happened to her when she met an “interesting” True Blood fan. Evan Rachel Wood will be back in a little screen near you in this upcoming season of True Blood and also on the big screen in the movie “The Ides of March” with Georges Clooney and Ryan Gosling. In the meantime, check out what she had to say to us.

Congratulations on the critically acclaimed ‘Mildred Pierce’. Can you talk about playing such a complex character as Veda?

Evan Rachel Wood: Thank you. I think this is one of the hardest characters I’ve ever played, not only because she is so complex and it’s incredibly dramatic, but also doing the preparations for the singing and the piano. It was just a lot of work, and the dialect; a lot went into that character everyday.

Where did you find inspiration to portray some of the more difficult aspects of the story and this performance?

Evan Rachel Wood: We had a couple of weeks of rehearsal before we started to get a feel for everything and a feel for each other and the material. Kate [Winslet] and I made a point of not watching the original film so that we could make it our own, but we worked with Todd [Haynes] on building who she was because we didn’t want her to just be evil and that be it. We wanted a reason behind the madness.

Do you think that for Veda, she wasn’t really evil, but that she just came across that way?

Evan Rachel Wood: I think she’s the very definition of spoiled. I think she’s a spoiled person. I think she was born with a certain spirit and energy and I think that Mildred just projected too much onto her and smothered her in a weird way and let her get away with murder. By doing that she just lost all respect for Mildred and didn’t want to have anything to do with her or that lifestyle, and especially at that time there was such a focus on class and money. I think it Veda just kind of latched onto that idea.

If we lived in a parallel universe and you had the opportunity to talk to Veda, what would you tell her?

Evan Rachel Wood: Oh, lord [laughs]. I would just say, ‘Leave her alone, man.’ I think Mildred and Veda should just leave it alone, just go your own way. That’s what I would say, and loosen up. Just relax.

What was it like working with Kate Winslet and Guy Pearce?

Evan Rachel Wood: They’re just wonderful, brilliant people, especially Kate. She’s my favorite actress. She’s on the top of my list. So, getting to work with her was pretty incredible. Just watching her on and off set is amazing because she, I mean, talk about a great spirit, kept everyone going because it was a really difficult shoot. We had a lot to film. She had the most to do and she took it like a champ and was really inspiring. Guy is just a brilliant actor and is always great in everything that he does and really intense in a good way.

Was there any advice or tips that they gave you?

Evan Rachel Wood: I wasn’t going to do the nude scene, but Kate kind of helped me out there, helped me through the whole experience actually which I’m really glad that I did because she was right. It was important for the film and it was a really powerful, intense moment and I think that it was necessary. So I’m glad that she convinced me to do it.

And the mechanics of the scene, were they close to what you imagined or were they different?

Evan Rachel Wood: I don’t know. It was all terrifying. Kate is just an amazing woman and she was there to support me and make me feel comfortable. So it was a good experience.

Is there something special that you look for in a character that you want to play?

Evan Rachel Wood: I have to connect with the script and with the character and really believe in the project or else I can’t do it. I’m pretty picky in that way. I mainly just go off of a feeling that I have when I read something, if I get excited, if I get butterflies and if I’m really passionate about it then that’s the one that I go after.

Do you seek out characters that are different from you or ones that are closer to your personality?

Evan Rachel Wood: A mix of both. It’s really fun to do something that’s completely different and totally step outside of yourself, but sometimes it’s fun to just play around and have it be slightly more natural to you. So, either one is good.

Do you have a standard approach to a role or does it vary depending on the part?

Evan Rachel Wood: It really varies. The director is really important to me. Todd was definitely on my list. ‘Velvet Goldmine’ is one of my favorite movies. So, that. I can connect with a character, but I have to know that it’s in the right hands, too, and that the story is going to be told in the right way. So, that’s important.

Outside of ‘Mildred Pierce’ you also played Queen Sophie-Anne in ‘True Blood‘. Were there any similarities to that character and Veda?

Evan Rachel Wood: Not at all [laughs]. They’re both pretty sassy, but ‘True Blood’ is interesting because it’s a lot of fun. It’s a ridiculous amount of fun, but suddenly all these things come into play that you never really thought about, like, you’re a supernatural being now. So, it’s like, ‘Should I breathe? Are my fangs out? Am I fast? What’s going on?’ What would a three hundred year old vampire do in this situation. It kind of blows your mind. So, it’s a much different approach. I think that Veda is much darker and more intense than even a vampire.

The season finale had Queen Sophie-Anne and Bill going at it. I have to ask who wins?

Evan Rachel Wood: [laughs] There’s no way I can tell you that. They would have my head. No way, but I think it’s going to be surprising.

What can you tease about the new season of True Blood?

Evan Rachel Wood: Honestly, I know just as much as you do. I’m also a fan of the show and so I don’t like to know what’s going to happen. I know what’s going to happen to me, but I’m waiting to see.

Have you had an opportunity to meet any of the diehard fans of ‘True Blood’?

Evan Rachel Wood: Yes. ‘True Blood’ has incredible fans. I was one of them and still am one of them, and they’re diehard. They’re really dedicated. It’s great. I walk down the street and people scream out, ‘It’s the queen!’ I go, ‘Where?’ So, that’s really fun. I think I get stopped more for ‘True Blood’ than anything else.

But they understand that you’re not a three hundred year old vampire, right?

Evan Rachel Wood: Right, yeah. I did have one person ask me if I was a day walker. I said, ‘No. I’m a human.’

You’ve had a prolific career at a young age. Do you have a long term vision as to where you want your career to go or more of a fluid approach to it?

Evan Rachel Wood: Usually a more fluid approach. I try not to think about it too much because I always want to be surprised. I just kind of want to keep doing what I’m doing, keep working with good directors and maybe one day direct. I’m just waiting to see what happens.

Do you have any upcoming projects that you can talk about?

Evan Rachel Wood: Well, ‘The Conspirator’, is that still out in theaters? I have that out and in October I have a George Clooney called ‘The Ides of March’ coming out.

How did that go?

Evan Rachel Wood: It was really great. All the performances in it are amazing and it’s just a great story. George did a wonderful job.

If you could guest star on any television that you’d like which one would it be?

Evan Rachel Wood: Weeds’. I love ‘Weeds’. I really do. Mary Louise Parker is my hero. I love that show. I do. I know it’s not on HBO, but [laughs].

Report from "The Amazing Spider-Man" exclusive footage screening at Sony

I just found this very interesting report of Jim, who was invited to watch some selected some "The Amazing Spider-Man" footages in an exclusive screening at Sony on June 1st. However, he didn't describe the footage/scenes, but said that they were absolutely awesome. Here's Jim's report:

So we were invited to see some Spiderman footage today at Sony. John Schwartzman was there and we talked a bit before going into the screening room.

"This is the best looking footage I have ever shot... these are the best images I have ever seen!" was his comment. I asked him if this was just his enthusiasm spilling out or if this was actually the case (pretty big statement). He thought for a few moments and said "No, really... this is the best footage I have ever seen from any camera. Ever."

So, with that, we went in. There was a Sony T420 projector (same as we have at RED Studios) in a grading room at Colorworks. We talked to "The Steve" (colorist) about his experience with the EPIC footage and opinion. He confirmed his opinion matched John's and we sat front row with huge expectations.

I have to say that we were all stunned. Shocked. So incredible. Not like RED ONE MX. Not like anything we had seen from another camera. Same resolution and feel of our new EPIC reel, but with actors and a story and Schwartzman's ability to light.

The consensus in the room (to a person) was that this looked like film. Like 65mm film. Better. Without any trace of film's blocky detail in shadows or grain. Jaw dropping.

EPIC is performing as it's name implies it should. We will keep John's comment close to us... to remind us how hard we need to work to never lose this position. We really like it.

It's more technical which I don't understand *lol* but it assures that the movie indeed has a breathtaking visualization. Andrew Garfield in 3D? Sure I'm not gonna miss it! ;) (And hopefully Evan Rachel Wood in 3D as well soon as she signs for Mary Jane Watson. Not a fact, but simply a wishful thinking. :D)

I reeeally love this new interview of Evan Rachel Wood and Los Angeles Times! The LA Times thinks that her performance as Veda Pierce in "Mildred Pierce" will earn her a nomination at the upcoming Emmy Awards, and I can't agree more! Evan also did a webcam interview with Tom O'Neil, showing her new haircut (or she just pulled it back? Well, she looks GREAT!) and talked about this new version of "Mildred Pierce".

Evan Rachel Wood as that voracious, villainous Veda in 'Mildred Pierce'

Evan Rachel Wood looks like a good bet to nab an Emmy nomination for "Mildred Pierce." The HBO miniseries was a huge, critically hailed TV event, and the original 1945 film had a strong awards pedigree. Joan Crawford won her Oscar as Mildred, of course, and it looks like Kate Winslet is a shoo-in to win the Emmy. Ann Blyth was nominated in Oscar's supporting slot for the same role portrayed by Wood today: the whiny, ungrateful, status-scheming daughter of a single mom struggling to survive the Great Depression. Whether or not Wood wins will depend largely on who is nominated against her.

Wood's gutsy adaptation of Veda caused much, ahem, excitement thanks to a nude scene she did at the urging of Winslet. Why did she do it? Is she happy that she did? The scene was part of a steamy twist in the updated plot that you won't find in the 1945 film -– or the original novel by James M. Cain that was banned in Boston and a few other U.S. cities.

Expect "Mildred Pierce" to receive scads of other Emmy nominations, including best mini/movie. (The two categories will be combined this year.)

Andrew Garfield got more competition to win the lead role in "Luna"

So, most of you might have heard that Andrew Garfield is currently competing to get the leading role in Doug Liman directed film "Moon" -- now officially titled "Luna". Andrew competes against fellow actors Emile Hirsch and Chris Pine, but the competition gets even tighter as Bradley Cooper and Chris Evans' names are now included.

Here's the movie synopsis from The Playlist:

The picture is about as high concept as they come following a group of renegade space employees, led by an Eastern European woman (though we’d guess the nationality might change depending on who they get to sign on), who are assembling a bunch of stolen space equipment to get to the Moon to steal an energy source, but there is one last thing they need to grab before they can leave: an ex-NASA employee.

Sounds pretty exciting! Keep checking back here for the development of this movie. Hopefully Andrew will be shortlisted! ;)

Andrew Garfield is one of the most respected and sought-after young actors working internationally today, and has already been directed by, and starred alongside, some of the greatest names in the industry.

Andrew Garfield is confirmed to attend Maui Film Festival + more details

As I previously announced here, our lovely Andrew Garfield is honored the Male Shining Star Award from Maui Film Festival. The most exciting thing is that I just got confirmation from @mauifilmfest that Andrew will indeed attend the event to accept the award!

The tribute to Andrew Garfield will be held on Saturday, June 18th, starts 8 pm for 10 minutes -- prior to the main screening of Celestial Cinema event (a short animated movie "Danny & Annie", a feature film "Beginners" starring Andrew's "Parnassus" co-star Christopher Plummer, a short film "A Shore Thing", and a feature film "Last Night" starring Andrew's "Never Let Me Go" co-star Keira Knightley).

The Shining Star Award is presented to "honor a film artist still in the ascendance of his career - with many magnetic performances both behind and ahead of him - whose very presence on screen guarantees as much light as heat," according to the festival. Jake Gyllenhaal won this award back in 2005. I guess it's such a perfect choice that they honor Andrew! ;)

Bryce Dallas Howard and Emma Stone give thumbs up on Andrew Garfield

Two beautiful ladies Bryce Dallas Howard and Emma Stone who are now promoting their upcoming movie, "The Help", recently sat down in an interview with MTV and spilled a bit about the new Spider-Man, the one and only Andrew Garfield. The two Gwen Stacies (Bryce played Gwen in "Spider-Man 3" -- for those who don't remember) stated how excited they are to see Andrew in the Spidey suit.

When MTV News caught up with the ladies before the Q&A session, we just had to ask Stone what it was like to see the new Spidey, Andrew Garfield, all decked out in his webbed spandex best.

"He looks like Spider-Man, ya know?" she shared. "It's pretty exciting."

Howard also gave her thumbs-up to the latest Spider-Man. "I saw Andrew in a leaked photo," she said. "And he looked really good."

The former Gwen Stacy isn't only excited about Garfield picking up where Tobey Maguire left off, but she's given her blessing, quite enthusiastically, to Stone too.

"I'm one of those people that goes online and reads gossip about movies, so pretty early on, there was some buzz," Howard explained, adding that she visited Stone in her trailer on the set of "The Help" the minute she heard the casting news. "I was stoked."

Stone elaborated a bit more about her time on set as Stacy, sharing that she had a joyous time making "The Amazing Spider-Man," which was directed by Marc Webb. "It was great; it was really wonderful," she dished about shooting the film. "It's something we both, for some reason, get to be a part of, which is wonderful."

Aww they are so sweet and nice! I'm sure Andrew won't disappoint his and the Spider-Man fans. ;)

Our man Andrew Garfield is likely attending MTV Movie Awards 2011, which will be held tomorrow on Sunday, June 5th! He is nominated for Best Breakout Male, Best Line For A Movie (with Justin Timberlake), and the movie "The Social Network" is nominated for Best Movie. I really hope we will be able to see him on stage accepting all of those three awards!

Andrew Garfield to receive Male Shining Star Award at Maui!

Big congrats to our man Andrew Garfield who will receive a Male Shining Star Award at the Maui Film Festival! Marc Malkin from E! revealed this news exclusively on his blog.

"His boundless talent and impeccable taste have caused him to be embraced by the industry as few ever are," says festival director Barry Rivers.

The Social Network star, who recently wrapped the much-anticipated new Spider-Man flick, joins previously announced honorees Olivia Wilde, Megan Fox and Garrett Hedlund.

And Mr. Malkin himself will attend the festival, which is held on June 15 at the Wailea Resort. Hopefully Andrew will make an appearance and acceptance speech.

The director of Evan Rachel Wood's breakout movie "Thirteen", Catherine Hardwicke, recently sat down with PopCrunch to discuss about directorial stuff, including her new release "Red Riding Hood". At the very opening of this interview, she talks a bit about our girl Evan and her Oscar snub back in 2005.

PopWrap: Before we get started, I simply have to say that "Thirteen" is one of my favorite movies and Evan Rachel Wood's Oscar snub is one of the most egregious in history.
Catherine Hardwicke: Thank you -- and I agree! [laughs] It is wrong that she didn’t get nominated. That girl was only 14 years old, we gave her one or two takes, is in every scene she’s excellent in every single moment.

I can't agree more! She should be nominated for Best Actress that year. Same disappointment when Andrew Garfield also missed the nomination list this year. But I'm sure there's still another chance for these two talented actors-- no doubt! ;)

YAY our man Andrew Garfield is confirmed to attend and discuss "The Amazing Spider-Man" at this year's Comic Con! Starting July 21 to July 24 in San Diego, this is the best place for all comicbook fans~ and of course the most effective event to promote Spidey!

Sony Pictures' Marc Weinstock said, "We’re thrilled to be bringing Spider-Man back to Comic-Con – it’s an exciting place to give the fans an inside look into what the new Spider-Man film is all about,".

I CAN'T WAIT EITHER~ even though I won't be attending the event (it's quite impossible for me, lol). Hopefully they will give us some new stills, posters, or even a teaser trailer!

Another George Clooney double take
When George Clooney plays the Oscar game he's made it a habit -- or a coincidence -- of usually having more than one picture in the game. In 2005, Clooney was nominated for best director and best original screenplay for "Good Night, and Good Luck," but took home his first statue for best supporting actor for his work in "Syriana." In 2010, Clooney was nominated for best actor for "Up in the Air" and provided the lead voice in best animated feature film nominee "Fantastic Mr. Fox" (and yes, we know he was nominated for best actor in 2008 for "Michael Clayton" and that was it, but please don't throw water on our theory yet). This season, Clooney is directing and appearing in "The Ides of March" as well as starring in Alexander Payne's potential frontrunner "The Descendants." Don't be surprised if it's 2005 all over again for Clooney.

Looking at how good "Up In The Air" was, I really believe in George Clooney! Still I'm hoping a stills or teaser trailer will come up very soon *fingers crossed*. And maybe our girl Evan will get a shot at the Oscars next year -- who knows? ;D

What a sad news that I got today. Our beloved Andrew Garfield is now reportedly single, according to Us Weekly. Sources said that they haven't spoke to each other for weeks because Andrew was so into "The Amazing Spider-Man" and never saw her either.

Andrew Garfield has changed his relationship status to single.

The 27-year-old Social Network star has broken up with Raising Hope actress Shannon Woodward, his girlfriend since 2008, Us Weekly can exclusively confirm. What went wrong?

One insider explains that the British actor and Woodward, 26, became estranged as he "got deeper into filming The Amazing Spider-Man; he literally never saw her."

So I actually have tweeted about this yesterday, about the emerged teaser posters of "The Amazing Spider-Man" as posted in Movie Poster Database. I've looked around searching for information if it's official (because they aren't displayed/announced in Spidey's official website), and even people at some forum mostly claimed them as fake aka merely fan-made. However, I personally kinda like them, because they're clean, dark, mysterious, and simple. Give your own verdict!

And then here's the third one, which absolutely looks like a fanmade (I've seen anything like this somewhere, to be honest). But it's pretty nice though.

Evan Rachel Wood in "X-Men: Children Of The Atom" fancast as Scarlet Witch

Not a news, obviously, but I just found this interesting blog post from Comic Book Movie (ah yes, I am that geeky if you didn't know, especially if it's Marvel stuff ;D). One of the contributor, RoadDogXXIV, posted a fancast (or commonly known as dreamcast) of "X-Men: Children Of The Atom" if it was made into a movie. Our girl Evan Rachel Wood got a shot, playing one of the villain (but apparently a member of Avengers as well) called Scarlet Witch -- and she is the daughter of all X-Men archenemy Magneto.

Daughter of Magneto, twin sister of Quicksilver, mutant and member of the Avengers, Scarlet Witch used her powers to manipulate probability and alter reality in her effort to help the world.

Many people want the likes of Serinda Swan and Jacqueline McInnes Wood as the Scarlet Witch. However, I've found fondness of Evan Rachel Wood in the role. Originally my pick for Rachel Summers in an early fancast I've done, I think she looks like she could pass for the twin of Tom Felton. Plus, it's a crime how gorgeous she is, even if she lacks a busom.

If I looked at the whole fancast -- I think it would be amazing if she played a twin of Tom Felton and daughter of Clive Owen. And if they're all 'evil' then it will be epic! Click here to see the whole fancast.

Not much of a news, but I just found this interesting interview of Dose.ca with Janice Min, editor-in-chief of The Hollywood Reporter about 'making an A-list star'. When talked about actors who are on the verge to a major breakthrough, she mentioned our most favorite guy Andrew Garfield, and that he will make a smart choice on showing his behavior in public.

Speaking at vitaminwater’s Cannes lunch series, Min rattles off a list of publicity-shy actors when asked about the young stars she thinks are on the verge of a major breakthrough. "Elizabeth Olsen, who says she has no interest in the public life. She's seen her sisters go through it and says it's not for her. Elle Fanning, Saoirse Ronan, Andrew Garfield, Henry Cavill, Emma Stone."

"People are so much smarter about how they behave in public than they were,” she adds. “You're not going to see Emma or Andrew stumble out of clubs. There's such a turn-off factor to showing that these days."

"Even five years ago you could do something bad and it wouldn't travel the way it does now. With the internet, it's everywhere so quickly."

"Ides Of March" to be released in Venice Film Festival?

Although this news hasn't been confirmed yet, I'm pretty excited about it! According to The Playlist, movies that will be released at the Venice Film Festival are announced, and seems like Evan Rachel Wood's upcoming "Ides Of March" is likely included. Again, there's no confirmation about this, but *finger crossed* that it will be true!

And there are even more high-profile films looking likely, although yet to be confirmed. Steven Soderbergh has two possibilities, actioner “Haywire” and thriller “Contagion,” while Steven Spielberg could bow either of “The Adventures of Tintin” or “War Horse”—although we imagine the latter, not due for release until December, is less likely, and if the former appears, it will likely be out of competition. George Clooney‘s also got two films said to be in contention, Alexander Payne‘s “The Descendants,” in which he stars, and the political drama “The Ides of March,” in which Clooney directs Ryan Gosling, Paul Giamatti, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood.

Looking at most movie sites considering "Ides Of March" as a 'high profile project', I'm quite optimistic that this movie will be good. I mean, look at the cast! x) And since Ryan Gosling himself confirmed that it's an ensemble cast movie, let's hope Evan gets a bigger role than we all expected. ;D

New "Spider-Man" set photos reveal blue screen around the bridge

A bunch of new "The Amazing Spider-Man" on-set photos are online, and these two reveal big blue screen around the bridge construction. Of course, we'll get to see some Spidey action on the Manhattan Bridge again, yay! What do you think of this scene would be? I'm hoping the death of Gwen Stacy, but I don't think that's possible.

Some time ago, one of Spidey cast C. Thomas Howell confirmed that Lizard was indeed the villain in this movie, and that there will be a fight between Lizard and Spidey on the Manhattan Bridge. Here's what he said to The Retroradio back then:

"There is not a whole lot to talk about. Sony wants us to be hush-hush right now. I play a relatively small role. I play a construction worker who’s son is caught in the middle of a battle between the Lizard and Spider-Man on the Manhattan bridge. Spider-Man helps me get my son back from this perilous situation. There is some payback there at the end of the movie. Spider-man is kind of hurting. I help him when all of the other people won’t. Part of the story is, the nation thinks he might be a bad guy. They don’t know what to think. Because of my experience on the bridge with my kid, I know he is a good guy. I pitch in and help out at the end. That is the best way."

With "there is some payback", does it mean that one of the characters will be died? Well, I think so. Again, I'm still hoping it's Gwen Stacy but who knows that it would be Gwen's dad George Stacy (most probably), because he said "part of the story is, the nation thinks he might be a bad guy". Even so, it would be weird because Capt. Stacy was originally killed by Doc Ock in the comic version (Gwen Stacy was killed by Green Goblin). Or maybe it would be civilians who died? I just can't stop guessing!

"The Amazing Spider-Man" is officially wrapped!

The upcoming amazing movie next year has indeed finished filming! According to The Lo Down NY, "The Amazing Spider-Man" shot the final scenes across the Brooklyn Bridge last night.

Thanks to Lo-Down reader David Flaherty for sending us this incredible shot from his balcony. Apparently, The Amazing Spider-Man was shooting some final scenes across the bridge last night. The film, directed by Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer), is the fourth in the most recent series of Spider-Man movies. It features Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field, to name a few. We hear it is being shot entirely in 3D, with a release date set for July 3, 2012.

Hopefully new stills or teaser clip will be released soon. Ahh so excited to see Andrew swinging around NYC with the Spidey web! <3

"The Amazing Spider-Man" actual budget revealed

At the beginning of the reboot progress, it was said that "The Amazing Spider-Man" (formerly simply titled "Untitled Spider-Man Reboot") budget revolved around $ 80 million. But then, Sony announced that this movie would be shot with 3ality 3D~ probably the most advanced 3D technology and by far the first and only movie using the techniques. From this interview with Richard Norton, Australian actor and martial artist who also did stunts in "Spider-Man", he unintentionally revealed the actual budget of this superhero reboot.

Unfortunately I can’t say much right now because I’m not allowed to. However I can say it was mostly stunt work. I doubt you’ll even recognise me. I play a SWAT guy but it’s a small part. I was on-set for four weeks and the experience was just phenomenal… it’s a $220 million budget movie! Vic Armstrong was the second unit director and it was great working with him. Andy Armstrong, his brother, was the stunt coordinator and an old friend. Andy’s the one who brought me onboard so for all those reasons and more it was a lot of fun!

$220 million, people! That's a lot of cash! But at least it assures that the special effects won't be disappointing. Hopefully the story line either!

P.S.: Our man Andrew Garfield's paycheck isn't disappointing as well. He'll get $500,000 for the first movie, $1 million for the second, and $2 million for the third. Happy for you, Mr. Garfield! ;D

Evan Rachel Wood's handsome and talented co-star Ryan Gosling talks a bit about their next project together "Ides Of March". Not much of an update though, but at least he revealed something about the movie, that it's an 'ensemble piece'.

And the George Clooney film, The Ides of March. Are you the lead?
It’s an ensemble piece. My character is the one who takes this downward spiral. He’s an idealistic but he loses his idealism, and he becomes involved in the dirty pool of politics that he swore he would never do.

I actually also thought that Ryan is the leading man in this film, but since he said that it's an ensemble-cast film then it surely has more than one plot. I really hope Evan will have a bigger part than we all expected. ;)

New Spiderman Andrew Garfield is reportedly taking a daily beating by performing all of his own stunts for the superhero movie.

The 27-year-old actor, who has taken over the role from Tobey Maguire, apparently has to have a massage every night to work out the kinks and bruises after refusing the services of a stunt double.

A source told the Daily Star, 'Andrew Garfield's doing all his own stunts and he's having a two-hour massage every night to keep his aches and pains at bay.'

Reeve Carney, who played Peter Parker/Spider-Man in "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" broadway is the frontman of this band. And I think they made this video shortly after both Evan and Reeve were chosen to be Mary Jane Watson and Peter Parker for the broadway (before Evan signed off and got replaced by Jennifer Damiano).

He was visiting the set of "The Amazing Spider-Man" on Thursday night (May 12), and Andrew was such a sweet heart he was willing to make this video. Carlos said Andrew's bodyguard wasn't happy, but Andrew himself stopped him and continued to talk and take photos with his fans. WHAT A NICE GUY.

The original video is totally dark, as you can see there's only one light behind Andrew. I had to edit it a little bit, adjusting brightness & contrast, color balance, etc. I'm not a pro video editor, so I know it's still dark and blurry, but you can actually see and hear that it's Andrew! Carlos asked him to say hi to 'Andrew Garfield and Evan Rachel Wood fansite on blogspot.com'. Andrew introduced himself, but then, he was a bit confused and shy and clueless so he only mentioned 'hi to Evan Rachel...'. According to Carlos, Andrew said that he felt embarassed to say his full name on this site title after that, lol.

Don't worry Andrew, you won't be clueless anymore when Evan is finally official to be your Mary Jane Watson (Okay, this is not a fact, but a very wishful thinking from me. That's why I created this site :D). Thank you so much Carlos~ you just made my weekend. And thank you so much Andrew for giving your time, it means a lot for me. Hope to see you very... soon. ;)

Thank God Blogger is up again! It's pretty frustrating that there was a lot of things to update but I couldn't even log in. Now that it's finally back online, here's a few updates from Andrew's last day of filming "The Amazing Spider-Man" in Queens, New York! Andrew was filming the 'death of Uncle Ben' scene with Martin Sheen. I bet it's going to be the most tearful scene throughout the movie! (More spoilery photos and a video are under the cut.)

What's in a name: Sophie-Anne LeClerq

True-Blood.net just posted this interesting article about the meaning behind Evan Rachel Wood's queen vampire character in "True Blood", Sophie-Anne LeClerq. Opposed to her devilish nature in the series, this name actually has a really sweet meaning and it does sound very girly. Read the article below:

The “teenage” vampire Queen of Louisiana has a name so French, it almost seems fake, doesn’t it? And yet somehow I think that’s her real name. Sophie is the French form of Sophia, which means “wisdom” in Greek. It’s a popular name for female royalty in Europe and Britain, as is Anne. Another Franco-version, Anne comes from the Greek Channah, later Anna, meaning “favored grace”. Two names steeped in royal tradition, traced back to ancient Greek, lend an air of sophistication to the Queen.

Here’s where the twist comes in: although it sounds rather elegant, LeClerq appears to be a version of the Le Clerc, the French word for “clerk”. As in, a lowly office or shop worker. So we have two regal first names, followed by a surname that possibly denotes Sophie-Anne’s family origins. Many surnames derived from either professions or locations of families, usually the father, so it seems likely that centuries-old Sophie-Anne is descended from clerks. Perhaps her father or grandfather worked for the French royal family?

Stunt coordinator Vic Armstrong talks the real action of "The Amazing Spider-Man"

As you might notice from this article, Andy Armstrong the stunt coordinator of "The Amazing Spider-Man", said that the whole action of this movie will be done by real actors and less CGI-ed. His brother, Vic Armstrong, who's also a stunt coordinator in this movie, confirmed his statement through this interesting interview with Quint from Ain't It Cool News. Read it below:

Quint: Do you think with the recent massive success of Fast Five, a film whose whole marketing campaign revolved around big, real stunts, that studios might turn away from their more CG-intensive stuntwork?

Vic Armstrong: I think that started already. The last few films I’ve been involved with, Green Hornet, Thor and now Spider-Man, the first thing said when we go into meetings is “We want make this as real as possible. We don’t want it to look like a CG fest,” etc, etc.

We spent weeks and weeks on Spider-Man getting Andrew Garfield and the stunt doubles to fly for real rather than just having cartoon characters whizzing around the screen. There’s some great stuff on YouTube of Spider-Man flying down 12th Ave. underneath this big, gothic archway, viaduct.

There’s a whole resurgence in doing things for real, which is how we like to do it. I’m not kidding people… we don’t cheat, but we don’t do things for real in the movie business. You don’t jump off a hundred foot building, land and walk away from it, but we can make it appear that you can. We’ve always used different tricks in the past, whether it be a stuntman landing on boxes and, with clever editing, you cut and see him land on the road. Things like that. To me, that’s no different to using CG in a movie to take out a pipe-ramp or to take out an airbag that you’re falling towards.

Quint: With the advent of DVD and the easy access to behind the scenes material on TV, DVD, books, etc, I think the average movie-goer is more aware of what’s going on behind the curtain than they used to. Using a combination of CG and real effects or stunt work makes it harder for the audience to spot the gag.

Vic Armstrong: Absolutely. When we did the last big of flying down in New York… We had fifty cars as he’d be flying above, swinging through as they’re driving up and down the road. Even the people in the cars who have seen it two or three times, you could see them looking out the windshields going “Whoooaaaa!”

Avi Arad, the producer of Spider-Man and he did all the other three Spider-Man (movies), he said “Oh my God, Vic. This is exactly what you said you guys were going to do!” My guys being myself and my brother Andy, who is the stunt coordinator with me. He said, “This is exactly what you said! It looks so different!”

When Spider-Man swings from one direction, then turns to swing another direction he’s pulling at 2 to 2 ½ Gs. That’s a lot of pressure on his body, but you see that on the body. You see the arms straightening out, you see the legs straightening out and then he pulls them back up as he then goes back up into his flying position.

You sense, subconsciously, the realism. You know. The eye and the brain is a funny thing. You only need something slightly off kilter for you to say, “Oh! Alarm-alarm-alarm! Something’s not right!” If somebody has one eye a quarter-inch higher, it’s not a lot, but straightaway the whole thing is out of balance and you see that in CG. When you see somebody swinging for real, then you look at the CG version your computer brain instantly tells you which is which.

Quint: Are you wrapped on The Amazing Spider-Man?

Vic Armstrong: I wrapped on Friday, yes. I’m going home to do a little publicity for the book, play a little golf and then I’ll be back!

Quint: How was that experience overall? Did you find it rewarding? From the man-on-the-street pictures and videos that have been coming out it looks really sharp from my perspective.

Vic Armstrong: I’m very, very happy with it. We did everything we set out to do and that’s all you can ever hope for. I’m very, very pleased with what we attempted and what we achieved. I really think it’s going to be a good movie.

It is a reboot. They don’t like to call it that, but it is a reboot. We went in at ground level and just changed everything; changed the actor, changed his approach to it and got some great, realistic modern parkour, skateboarding, flying… everything in it.

Aww so proud of Andrew! And since Vic said that he wrapped on Friday, then there might be no more Spidey stunts in New York now. I'm happy to know that Andrew isn't injured and doing well. Way to go, boy!

Can't get enough of "The Amazing Spider-Man" on-set photos? Well, we'll likely get some more! On Location Vacations informed that for Tuesday (May 10) night the filming location will take place in Queens, around 59th-61st and Roosevelt in Woodside. One thing I'd love to ask: do you realize that the photos of Andrew in Spider-Man costume were from the night set? I bet we're going to have more of him with the costume on. Don't worry, as usual, I'll get you covered!

"The Conspirator" comes to Italy on June 22!

Hello all Italian fans of Evan Rachel Wood, here's a good news for you! According to Cineblog, Evan's this year movie "The Conspirator" will come to Italy on June 22, 2011. The movie tells about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, and critics said that Evan was bloody good in it even though she's not in the major role. The Robert Redford-directed movie is currently rated 7.1 in IMDB (which is above average, of course), and also starring James McAvoy, Robin Wright, Alexis Bledel, Kevin Kline, Jonathan Groff, and Tom Wilkinson.

Martin Sheen talks about Ben and Peter Parker's scenes in "The Amazing Spider-Man"

Andrew Garfield's on-screen uncle Martin Sheen spoke to Hey You Guys about the relationship of Ben Parker and Peter in "The Amazing Spider-Man" movie. Mr. Sheen revealed that he wasn't involved with any Spider-Man screens (in which Andrew wears the Spidey costume). Read on the interview below:

"I’m not in any of the scenes where he’s Spider-man. He’s still a little boy. He’s a teenager when it starts. I’m a surrogate father really, I’m his uncle. And so all of our scenes are just like you and I talking now. I’m dealing with this adolescent who is having problems with changes, with hormones changing and his getting out of hand. I have to give him the marching orders and so forth. It’s all very normal.

"I was delighted and we had a wonderful time… I’ve never seen him in the uniform, I’ve never seen any of the stunts, any of the special effects, the green stuff. All my stuff is like normal acting and I don’t do anything with him otherwise. I’m dead in reel one y’know. I don’t do the end until I’m in New York. In April and May, that when I finish up with him. That’s where I get shot. There’s no special effects for me, that’s for the other characters."
